Self-Sabotage? Join The Club!

Two more outstanding presenters at the Spring EFT and Energy event: Gene Monterastelli and Jade Barbee.

Gene walked us through his thorough process to move beyond self sabotage.  He gave us body-based questions to help root out self-sabotage through checking in with our eyes, hands, head, heart, and gut.  Gene shared Merlin Mann's gem:  "Priorities are like arms; if you think you have more than two you're crazy."

I liked Gene's attitude that to take the next action that will start a positive chain reaction, "you don't need to be fearless--you just need to be fearless-er."  He offers great advice on his TappingQandA site.

My friend and EFTFree.net colleague Jade opened the conference by taking us back to the roots:  let the tapping do the work.  Jade reminded us of the value of zeroing in on the simplest phrase or description of emotions possible and tapping a full round (or more!) on just the words.  "I'm angry" or "this fear in my stomach" for example.

Jade led us through this idea by using the Marquee technique, visualizing a movie marquee with the title of what's bothering you, and tapping just on the margquee title.  Checking in after each round and noticing changes in the marquee lets you see how the issue is changing.

Jade gives a great example of the marquee technique on EFTFree.net, and special products for artists and writers at his EmotionalEngine site.

Whose Feelings Are You Feeling?

I just came back from a very exciting new event, the inaugural Spring Energy Event for the Northeast.  Held in Stony Point, NY, it was the brainchild of EFT Superwoman Jondi Whitis, who charmed her friends--most of them EFT celebrities--into helping produce this terrific conference.

I was privileged to make the closing presentation on tips for practitioners about running abundance groups.  But I was even more privileged to hear some amazing and impressive presentations, which I'd like to share with you over the next couple of weeks.

Two presenters who covered the territory of family systems and heritage were Jaqui Crooks and Deborah Donndelinger.  They helped us remember that when we experience negative or painful feelings, they may not be ours...they may come from someone else within the family system.

Jaqui gave a startling fact to illustrate our family connectedness through generations:  the egg that became you was formed inside your mother...when she was in her mother's womb. That really made the impact of our physical heritage crystal clear!

Jaqui spoke beautifully and poetically of clearning the family lineages so that we can "step in to the 'you-shaped' space in the Universe that only you can occupy."  Jaqui (who has a lovely, calming voice) gave us ideas for using tapping to re-pattern the moment of our birth to include things that we wish had happened for us or had been given to us at the time we were born.  She led us through some lovely tapping scripts.

Deborah has created an elegant synthesis of EFT and Family Constellations which she named Family Energetics. Deborah got us thinking with her concept: "the bigger the issue, the bigger the love that is wanting to be seen and realized."  She starts with Gary Craig's assertion that the cause of negative emotions is a disruption in the body's energy system, and takes it up a notch: the cause of negative emotions is a disruption in the family's energy system.

Deborah led us through exercises from imagining the most recent three generations to imagining our heritage lands, to notice where we could feel lost or stuck energy.  There were many insights in that session too!

I invite you to explore these practitioners and their ideas further.
